A very fruitful meeting took place at the end of October 2025 on further developing the new Joint Inter-University Master’s Program on Responsible Consumption and Production under Sustainable Mining (RCP-SM)" under the umbrella of the EURECA-PRO European University Alliance.
This is a new study program, jointly organized by the School of Mineral Resources Engineering (MRE), Technical University of Crete (TUC) in Greece and Montanuniversität Leoben (MUL) in Austria, supported with funding from the Greece 2.0 National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Representatives from both TUC (Emmanouil Varouchakis, Panagiotis Partsinevelos) and MUL (Volkmar Kircher, Michael Tost, Thomas Prohaska, Denise Chousi) met in person in Leoben, Austria on 29 and 30 of October, 2025 to advance the establishment of the new program. The meeting finalized the program’s academic scope, the partner roles, and the study structure, including course alignment and core thematic modules. It is expected that the program will commence in the 2026 Winter Semester.
