A delegation of 6 administrative staff members from one of the EURECA-PRO partners, the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland, will visit the Technical University of Crete (TUC) in the last week of May 2025 to meet colleagues from different academic TUC services for a series of fruitful meetings and exchanges on the challenges and best practices in Academic Affairs and Student Admissions.
Capacity Building and the review and design of ongoing skills training for staff is one of EURECA-PRO's priorities for the second phase of its programme of activities. EURECA-PRO TUC is a leading group within the alliance on the task of capacity building and has been working systematically on surveying the needs, gaps and best practices across the alliance on specific areas of the academic cycle, as well as preparing reports with key findings, accompanied by a strategy plan document to be consulted by all partners.
The visit of the SUT delegation, planned for May 27-29, 2025 is part of EURECA-PRO TUC's plan to design, implement and evaluate capacity building actions, following on from the survey results and strategy plan. The visiting staff members are scheduled to meet closely-related TUC staff members from specific offices and services of our university, as part of a mutual learning and understanding study visit.
The anticipated outcome of the visit is to identify best practices and discrepancies on how different tasks and challenges are managed by the different institutions in key areas, such as Student Admissions, Student Record Management, Teaching and Learning Support, Language and Cultural Support, Library and Information Services, Quality Assurance, Erasmus+ Mobilities and International Student Support.
Activities of this event may be digitally recorded, while photographic material will be taken. The digital material will be displayed on the websites and on the official channels of the Technical University of Crete and the European University EURECA-PRO and will be published on social media, press releases and newsletters.
