Understanding "Sustainability" in the context of research and education in Greece was the main focus of the Erasmus+ Accreditation exchange programmes that took place in April 2025 between the Akrotiri Public High School of Chania and Schools from Germany, France and Portugal, more specifically:
- Freie Schule Anne-Sophie from Berlin in Germany,
- Lycée Lavoisier from Mulhouse in France and
- Alberto Sampaio School from Braga in Portugal.
As part of the exchange programmes, students and their teachers visited TUC's campus and were introduced to the university and EURECA-PRO by the host Dr. Konstantinos Komnitsas, Professor at the School of Mineral Resources Engineering and frequent EURECA-PRO collaborator. The students and their teachers were particularly interested in EURECA-PRO and got inspired by the EU's European Universities initiative with a lot of positive comments and questions.
Our EURECA-PRO TUC team was honoured to welcome the visitors to our office, briefly talk about current projects, research and educational programmes and give them small RCP gifts. Dr. Maria Papadomanolaki guided the visiting students and the visit concluded with a presentation of the EURECA-PRO Landmark on TUC Campus and a walk to the site of the installation to take group photos!
Both the visiting students and our EURECA-PRO TUC team felt very engaged, inspired and certainly more enriched about sustainability on a local, European and global scale.
